Slew% is 60. Current and demand angles are 0 all the time. Then some times the Current angle will scan continuously back and forth and the gimbal will not respond at all. This only happens about 1 out of ever 10 times you power it up. Please help ASAP guys, we need this up and running as we have jobs coming up soon. Matt will be ordering 3 more radians from you very soon. If you would be kind enough to send a replacement for our current pan unit we will send this one back. Please provide us with your address.
Brent: One thing I forgot to ask: Has this particular sensor worked before and has now failed? Or is the first time you're connecting it up. I'm not actually a FF employee -- just a volunteer -- so sending anything to me won't help, I'm afraid. Without knowing where you are located, I strongly suspect the best thing to do would be to go through the distributor from whom you bought the Radians. Sorry I can't be of more immediate assistance -- I know the feeling that an upcoming job can produce! Andy.
Hi Andy, that message was meant for Tabb. We bought our stuff from him. Yes it worked perfectly for a week then crapped out when we were doing a demo for Green peace.
OK. I'll contact Tabb and make sure he reads the thread. Sigh....don't you hate when things crap out in front of important clients.... Andy.
Cheers. Yes I do. We were just about to fly past a person to demo how well the gimbal works then pan just stopped working.
I do my absolute worst landings in front of clients. "Yes, I like to penetrate through the ground effect bubble briskly...." Andy.
Hey Brent, Just as a note : don't set any max/min angles for the pan and always set the 'fixed position to 'hold'. The reason is that the IMU 'zero degrees' reference is arbitrary and not linked to 'straight ahead'. You would find some strange behaviours as the internal angle drifts around gradually.
Hi Brent, Where did you purchase from? FF does not sell direct to customers? Also have you swapped a new unit to Pan to confirm that there is a problem with the Radian? Thanks Tabb
Sorry, we bought from quadracopter. Thought is was you. No I have not changed it. Still all mounted as normal. Will do when I go back to work.
Hi Brent: Just to clarify: QC is a company in Whitefish Montana run by Adam Paugh and his team. They are distributors for FF products. FF is based in Washington State and run by Tabb Firchau and his team and, obviously, are the makers of the Cinestar product line. While I'm at it, I should mention that I don't work for FF or QC, I'm just a volunteer moderator -- and I'm about 150 miles south of Freefly. Hope that clarifies things for you -- and anyone else who might have the same question you do. Andy.
Hello Gents. I am back at work now. I have tried one of the other radians in the pan position. It works perfectly. So I guess this other one has some sort of an issue. I will contact Quadracopter for a replacement and copy in a link to this discussion. Cheers for all your help guy.
