Franco Scapin emailed me -- the new version of MK_GPXTOOL (1.3) is available. See http://www.mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/en/MKGPXTool Andy.
Here is an English translation (by Mrs. Google) of the Change Log: 23rd March 2013 02:57 v1.3 new: - New feature: sync from the log folder with SD card via MK tool FTP server ("Import from MK-Tool") - Compatibility with a new log format of the NC firmware 0.30a (parser completely rewritten, now is a lot faster!) Firmware compatibility with new file name syntax of NC 0.30a - - New values "Speak" and "FC_SPI_ErrorCounter" added to a new value "Speak (text)" created (for GridView) - Date added in the index, some cleaned up and moved the reference to (min / avg / max) more top - "Set Local Log Directroy" and "Reload directory" added new menu "Log directory" - Save config added to the Settings menu - Quick access buttons (shortcuts) added to menus - New menu "?" with links to MK GPXTool wiki page, error codes, etc. FCFlags, "About" and moved here purely Other: - Select the "Windows" and revised behavior (one-off "toggle" of windows) - Switching between configurations has GridView menu (shown in bold which window is open) is not updated - Map: Map will open in browser now on maps.google.com instead of maps.google.ch - Map: Download the card can be canceled - GridView: One-off via menu data has not updated in the window between when a new log is loaded - GarphViews: Data is now redrawn when after the load of a log will open a window - Designation "Inch" in "Imperial" renamed - Reload button in the log window ADDED - Response to update the log folder improved bugs: - BugFix: GPX has been loaded via the menu option in the OSD video from apspielen not work properly - BugFix: Displays "(x dirs / logs x)" has calculated the number of logs wrong - BugFix: Import Config has always overwrites the first configuration, instead of the currently selected
So with the new release of the MK software theoretically you should be able to download the GPX data via XBee/Bluetooth without having to remove the card. If that works it will eliminate a safety point of not having the card seated properly. Of course if you have the MK config file set to not flying without an SD card that wouldn't be a problem.
That's correct, you can now hot glue (or tape) the microSD card into the NC board and just use a wireless means of downloading it -- although I think the MK USB/Cable method is probably more reliable. Andy.
Is this release backward-compatible? Can it read the existing log formats? I'm waiting to upgrade my firmwares until after a couple big things I'm doing soon.
Just tried it out. Works great with the next-to-most-recent firmware. Seems more stable. The map tracking playback works way better.
