I would also be very interested in this. I have tried to search it but there really isn't much out there.

I'm also experiencing motor restart issues with KDE 4014XF. I will also raise the min gas value.

But, I experience motor restart error when I give power. I'll also check other timings again to get rid off this problem. Steve also had this problem and it crashed afaik.

Ozkan what props are you using? I'm using 18 inch props which are the correct props that this motor was designed for. It will change the RPM of the motor and could make a big difference.

Steve uses the 4012 motors and had problems because he was using 18 inch props when the 4012's are designed for smaller props.

It didn’t crash, but it wasn’t a pretty landing. I misinterpreted the audio warning as an emergency and brought it down quickly. However, I believe my problem was a shoddy bullet connector. I resoldered a few bits and haven’t had a problem since.

Dave I'm using 16" and 18" props. With both props I get the same error. I'll also inspect the solder points as per Steve's experience but they are always triple checked. Maybe a bad motor can cause this but they all sound the same and smooth on motor test.

IF mini gas of 12 doesn't work try 17.

Dave can you be kind enough to post some pics of your finished set-up?

I just wonder if you still getting props in shot if you do a 360 and how you go about avoiding it.

    cheers

Here's one. I really don't see props in the shot unless the camera is pointing in extreme positions it shouldn't be in the first place which no configuration will help.

I have bin using the mejzlik 14" props for more than a year and I´m happy. God quality and well balanced. I'm about to order the 20" for my new X8 build - after reading trough this tread.

I went for the Mejzlik 18" props to my KDE 5215 motors. THEY WILL NOT FIT ON A X8 SETUP. They will be fine on a flat 8 setup..

What size booms? They will fit fine with 500mm booms.

Are you talking about insufficient clearance for the lower motors because of the props’ geometry?
That's easily solved with spacers. No big deal.

Yes. I found it really hard to balance the props/motors with spacers...

    Hi guys,
I'm finally converting my flat 8 to an X8 for portability reasons and want to do a similar build. I plan on mostly flying a M5 GH4 combo but would like to carry the M5's maximum payload if needed. I ordered 16" beachwood props from Quadrocopter but realize I may need to go larger. I have 500mm booms and am hoping to fly 2x 16,000 quadrocopter batteries (side mount) for ample flight time. I live at 5400ft so we'll see. Do you recommend the KDE 4014's or Tigers? I'm running all MK with the V3 Double Quadro on the way. KDE- said they weren't sure how they would work with Mikrokopter ESC's but from what I've read here.... pretty well. I'm not a fantastic tuner so if one is more 'set and forget' then the other- it would be ideal. Thanks for your help!
