Awhile back there was talk of Freefly developing a new beefier gimbal plate for DSLR's and heavier cameras, and some peeps here have done it on there own with different methods. Is this now a Freefly recommended modification and at what camera weight should we think about needing a sturdier gimbal plate. I know with my 5dMarkII I see a lot of flexing there. Is that new plate still in the works and when might we be able to purchase? :0)
Did you see Jeff Scholl's solution here on the forum. He has a video on Youtube for his Epic 3-axis setup.
Quadrocopter LLC mentioned in this youtube video that they recommend two CineStar-8 Gimbal Vibration Plates when flying an Epic. I guess you would than also use 4 additional CineStar Vibration Dampening Brackets. Is there anything else to make the gimbal more sturdy for a RED Epic? Would you recommend this solution? Cheers David
I really like the first solution in this thread. http://forum.freeflysystems.com/ind...-between-cs6-and-3-axis-gimbal.135/#post-8257 I'm no engineer but it seems to me the spacers between two gimbal plates would add a great deal of stiffness.
