Saw this on your FB this morning...made my heart sink and can't even imagine the in the moment feelings you were having! Chalk another one up for having duplicates of everything on set...including your DX8. Wow! I keep a spare antennae around because I've have the wire inside bust but flying with a spare remote...good on yah!!

Unreal! Incredible that it was found - from the footage it seems like it was a good distance away from you?! How was it found??

That was first time that I brought a back up transmitter, glad I did!

I noticed after it was gone that I had a telemetry reading on my spektrum. That told me that at least it wasn't underwater and the main battery was connected to the heli. I then walked until the telemetry reading got very faint and counted steps as I walked in the opposite direction until got strong then was lost again. We then walked back half of the total steps so we were at a center point in the grid. They spotted it 5 minutes later, when they pointed to where it was in the tree it took me about 10 seconds to see it. I never would have looked that high up for it, amazing that they spotted it so quick!

You're cool enough to take a video of this fly away! Very nice video and happy ending indeed.

Flyaway in a jungle is billion times better than a flyaway in a city. So no worries!

It's pretty rare to have a transmitter stick failure, though....not quite sure how you could even test for that beforehand -- but genius to have a backup transmitter. I thought I was the only guy to do the Noah's Ark approach (travel with two of everything...)

I thought I was paranoid before, even worse now! haha.

My video was posted on Petapixel and a guy commented and thinks I made the whole thing up as a publicity stunt!! hahahahahaha!

Thanks for putting this video together. A bit educational, a bit entertaining too, and a moment of suspense! Glad you were able to get it back
