I have to send my MX20 back for repair and they said it would take about a month. I don't want to waste the winter time when I can be training with aerosim so I was thinking of getting another radio to get me by. I will eventually need a 2nd radio anyway when I upgrade to the 3 axis gimble. Looking at the paper specs, it looks like the MX12 would be a good choice for the videographer and the mx20 would be good for me the pilot. I'd like to get input on this.

    thanks

If you're using a three axis gimbal with Radians (apologies--I don't remember your configuration), the advantage the Spektrum satellite radio offers is that the Radians can have both the Spektrum and a PWM/PPM radio plugged in at the same time so it makes it easier to convert between dual to single operator. The Radian's give priority to the Spektrum, but, if the Spektrum is inactive, the Radian rolls over to paying attention to the PPM/PWM input on Port 1.
