Thought I'd share the first project I worked on with my M10. The M10 shots are from car to car, hanging out of my Jeep. One of the main reasons I got this rig was to assemble a "camera car" type rig. Worked flawlessly, within the client's budget and gave me exactly what I was looking for. Set up was an Epic with the 24-105 taped off to 85mm. No post stabilization, but we did run IS on the lens. Running about 25 - 70 mph. AC was hanging off the car ( not advised ) and out the back ( also not advised ) while I ran remote.
01:34 - Pure Awesomeness! Don't know why but that's by far my favorite shot. Is that just someone standing out an adjacent sunroof, handheld with the MoVI up high above their head?
…here's a shot of how we were doing it. ( http://instagram.com/p/gH01--CCTf/ ) Again, this is totally not endorsed as the proper way to shoot something like this, but we did have my AC / Op ( Brian Williamson ) tethered to the car and the car to the MoVI. The plan is to take off the whole roof and doors at some point but for this shot, because there was so much dust getting kicked around we just had the top roof panels taken off. It really is crazy, in a few shots the Porsche and the Jeep hit some high frequency and low frequency bumps and the shot was completely flat. Thanks for the kind words everyone! M10 is really great, we're starting to work it in to every project now and it's working great with the Epic!
Beautiful work! I always love when I forget why I'm watching a video. Was this shot entirely on the Epic? The wide stuff at the hotel looks different then the closer stuff? Awesome job.
Thanks Justin. Yeah it was all shot on the Epic. We used a Zeiss 21mm + Pol and a 200mm 1.8 at the hotel. It gave those sections a different look and I overexposed the building, wanted a bleary hot day vibe. The combo of those made that section look different than the other sections Epic footage.
