I’ve been looking at the Rode VideoMic Me-L (it’s a lightning port connection) to mount on the Cinema Robot hoodie accessory. The mic doesn’t have a shoe mount. Has anyone used this mic with the CR, or am I barking up the wrong tree? I’m just basically trying to improve on the iPhone’s built in mics but can’t really justify investing in the better Rode mics.

This thread might be a place to start if you're willing to tinker a bit.

Here's a direct link to the DIY mount I made for a Shure MV88. At a glance, it looks like the Rode VideoMic Me-L would be even easier to make a mount for. There are literally thousands of 1/4x20 and hot (or cold) shoe mounting gadgets available at Amazon. You can also find black and white O-ring assortments on Amazon.

That’s a nice, simple but elegant solution! Definitely worth considering. Since my original post I’ve also been looking at the Deity D4 Duo, which uses a thread mount and is getting some very good pre-release reviews. My question is whether it would work with an adapter to convert from its TRS plug to a lightning connector for my iPhone. Thanks for your reply Stephen!
