The title says it all. When my M5 is connected to my Cinestar it always makes the Cinestar spin wildly when the MoVI operator switches to "lock" (majestic if you wish) mode before takeoff. The MoVI is in airborne mode and well balanced. For some reason my M10 does not do this at all in the same situation. This makes the takeoff process unnecessarily complicated because if the MoVI is in "off" mode during takeoff, the camera naturally swings itself to unpleasant positions sometimes making the MoVi go haywire. If "lock" is activated just before takeoff, the copter starts spinning and taking off gets dangerous to the copter. I wonder if the newest 4.01 firmware fixes this? I´m on 3.08 I think.
Tuukka: Can you confirm that you have set the M5 to airborne mode? You might want to check this thread where Brad explains the various modes: http://forum.freeflysystems.com/ind...hing-from-remote-to-majestic.5198/#post-51701 Andy.
Well Andy, with all due respect, you should have read my post first. I mentioned that yes, indeed the MoVi is in airborne mode. If it was not, remote operating would not be possible to my best knowledge. And in addition it says "Mode: Airborne" in the configuration software of my Android pad.
You're right Tuuka....I should have read your posting in more detail. Sorry about that. In which case, I'm afraid I don't know what's causing the spinning. Andy.
Tucker if everything is balanced start in the 'off' position. Power up the copter and apply throttle so that it just about ready to lift off and then toggle the MoVI to the middle position. Take off as you are doing this. With no resistance the copter deck is acting just like the handlebars when handheld. If you aren't holding them then will spin around. Really not that hard once you get the hang of it.
Err... Tucker? I´m a person, not a car I know this technique, but what puzzles me is why something that does work on M10 does not on M5?
Tuukka, don't think its as firmware issue, im still running 3.08 & the kill/lock mode is working fine with our M5 copter, maybe take a look at the radio ..the switch/ channel your using to change modes may need tuning.
