OK. My cameraman and I have owned an M-10 for a year now. Done some network television, and music videos. All good. We don't use the tool for everything, so I'm admitting I'm not a specialist. We got the Movi-15 a month ago, and just now getting it out of the box. We will use an Epic Dragon, as we did on the M-10, but for now I'm setting it up with a Canon T2i for simplicity. Balanced as I did with the M-10, felt good about it, and turned on power. IT HAD A MIND OF IT'S OWN, SPASMING LIKE A FISH ON ACID. TURNING AND TWISTING ALL OVER THE PLACE. I'm currently rebalancing, and feeling the need to try again, but before I do, and possibly cause permanent damage to the unit or myself, I am putting this out there.... What caused this??
I would shoot an email to support@freeflysystems.com Brian. It almost sounds like there might a cable that's become unplugged... Andy.
Thanks Andy...I just e-mailed support. I'll check all connections too. I'm under pressure since I gotta show this to the cameraman all working tomorrow, and well...gulp...
In which case, you can do a visual inspection yourself. Just eyeball all the connections a gently push them into the connectors. Does the gimbal go bonkers the moment you power it up? Can you also connect up via Bluetooth and the Configurator app on Android, PC, or Mac? It would help if you could post a short video the sequence of events, including what the three LEDs are doing on the MōVI controller. Andy.
Also, powering on the RC transmitter and switching the gimbal into kill mode BEFORE turning on the Movi may help you. Theoretically you should be able to connect via Bluetooth and inspect things without having to deal with a psycho Movi.
As you check for loose connections make sure that you check the ones that are under the power switch cover plate.
Make sure your Toad in The Hole is lined up correctly. It may be looking for center with a tight window and bouncing back and forth.
