In anticipation of a Red Epic shoot next week, one where I'll have to mount up a rental Epic on my MoVI, I'm thinking of various ways to mount it up, power everything, etc.

I figure why reinvent the wheel, so any pics out there with different setups that were ideal?

    Any advice?

    Thanks
    Ben

I don't have any detailed pics but I've been working on my rig for a few weeks. A no brainer for me was to power the camera with a side handle RedVolt. The rest depends on your accessories. What do you plan to monitor with and are you doing wireless FF and Video?

For accessories I'll have the RedRock microRemote FF system (w/ base station and motor on camera), and a Zacuto EVF (hdmi) up on the crossbar with the Teradek HD transmitter. I could power these off a Lipo on the crossbar too, I guess. Maybe I could run a thin power cable down to power the FF base station too.

Nice one, Charles. That 50mm Leica is a gem. How are you powering your Epic and your RTmotion system?

I got a +1 module from red. Lemo power out.
Power runs from red sidearm . Single redvolt.
I think this is good because replacing the batteries is easy and doesn't shift the balance of the rig. Plus i think this might be the lightest option .

    My current setup.

Sorry didn't have wireless on for pic. It was mounted to the top with a lipo battery on the right.

Thanks for those, Justin. So are you powering the Epic with the redvolts in the side handle and the FF with that Lipo?
