I am stumped. I have finished my Cinistar 8 build and I am trying to figure out why the LEDs are not coming on. I have attached a pic of the LED circuit board, I have power coming into the right (as you look at it)_ of the board but nothing coming out of the left side of the board. When I put power to the LEDs individually they work fine. I have also attached a pic of how the LEDs are set up in MKtools. Thanks Nick
Hello Nick, Looks like the SMD components are not yet soldered onto the EXT PCB board. Did you purchase this kit?: http://www.quadrocopter.com/PCB-Extension-Set_p_312.html With this set there are some small components to assemble on the PCB. Check the scope of delivery on this product. Assembly instructions are here: http://www.mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/en/ExtensionPCB Greetings, Adam
Hey Adam, Thanks for taking a look. It is was what came with the Cinestar 8 basic DIY kit, it is listed as a PCB extension kit in the scope of delivery. I maybe delusional but I didn't see the actual pieces you were describing. Would you mind being more specific for someone who is 'electrically challenged' Cheers Nick
Hello Nick, Here are the parts for the EXT PCB kit: Scope of Delivery: 1x - Bare circuit board 9V voltage regulator LFETs Optocoupler LEDs Resistors Capacitors Cable These components are very small and potentially overlooked. They are included in the pink bag with the bare circuit board in your picture. Greetings, Adam
Just for future reference: I built my C8 with the help of 'The Rather Good Guides' and Andy just confirmed that his DVD's do not cover the assembly of the ECB Extension board as it used to come assembled from Quadrocopter. He kindly shared this link for a tutorial
Yeah...sorry about that folks. The Extension PCB I got was fully assembled, so I didn't realize the need. Andy
It was back in the Dim Times (that is, last year), so I think I may have asked QC if it was possible to have it assembled as I "don't do" surface mount.... Andy.
Andy come on. All the toys you have and you don't want to mess with parts so small that you need an electron microscope to install them?
Yeah. I confess. I just couldn't quite see myself with a hot air soldering station soldering things I couldn't see, to printed circuit boards....and my whimpering skills are better than my surface mount soldering skills.... Andy.
