Anyone use their phones outside to film... mine seems to overheat very quickly.... can tell because the screen auto dims and you are unable to override the dimming till it cools down

    Hi Allesandro:

Can you provide some more information, please?

    1. Which model of iPhone?
    2. What version of iOS?
    3. How much RAM in the iPhone?
    4. What kind of case is the iPhone in?
    5. Are you filming outdoors in direct sunlight or indoors?
    6. Do you have "Location Services" running? (Settings -> Privacy)
    7. Do you have iCloud active and attempting to synchronize files?
    8. Has your iPhone overheated before you started to use the FF Movi app?
    9. Do you have Background App Refresh enabled?
    10. Are you using the Freefly app. or some other app?
    11. What other apps are you running while you're filming please?

Sorry to bombard you with questions! (Nobody expect the Spanish Inquisition..... :) )

    Andy

Thanks. I suspect -- but don't know for sure -- that having both the Movi app and the Filmic App might just possibly be sucking too much compute power and that's causing the issue. One way of finding out would be to try and use just the Movi app by itself without Filmic Pro being loaded.

Just to be sure -- and with apologies if I'm telling you something you already know -- from the "desktop" screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold until the loaded apps appear, tap and hold on the top app until you see the red circle with white bar and tap on all apps other than the Movi app, then try again and see if it still overheats.

I suspect you're running iOS 11.3.1 (Settings -> General -> About and check version).

Looks like tomorrow's forecast for Miami is 83F, so, as you say, pretty toasty down there.

Please post again when you find out whether running just the Movi app without Filmic Pro makes a difference.

    Thanks
    Andy
