Oh....and read this: https://freeflysystems.zendesk.com/...he-Spektrum-DX7s-DX8-transmitter-to-the-MōVI- Andy.
Under configure in the FF App I see reset controller.... Does this mean if I got way off I could select this from the FF App and get the controller back to original mop specs? That would be comforting to know>? Thanks C
The best way of preserving the configuration is to use System -> Save Settings and write the current settings to local file on the computer/tablet running the configurator app. Then if you cobble things up, reset the controller by using System -> Load Settings and System -> Write Settings (I'm going from memory as I don't have a MōVI fired up right now -- so the menu items might have slightly different names). Andy.
Ive tried these steps several times with no luck. On step 10. My remote is already set on D/R 100 to start? everything els seems good but it just turns my pan off on the right stick and does nothing to the left stick. I'm using the spectrum dx7s and MoviM5 Any help would be great? Thanks Chris
Chris: Regarding step 10, the value you see for Rudder D/R depends on how the transmitter was original set -- the point thing is the value needs to be at 100 -- and it sounds like it already is. On my DX7, the value was zero, so I had to TWR (Thumb wheel right) to increase it to 100). The activation of the left stick happens when you make changes to the MōVI in terms of which channels it uses and you do that with the MōVI Configuration application. Specifically steps 32 and 33. What channels do you see for the various items in the Remote Controller Configuration Menu on the MōVI Configuration app?? Those are the RC channels being used (with a minus sign to denote that direction of travel of the transmitter stick is opposite to the direction of travel on the MōVI. You will need to write the changes out to the MōVI to make them permanent (System -> Write Settings). Andy.
Step 10 is at 100 and i made the two adjustments wrote it out and same results...... Would it have anything to do with the fact that my movie is m5 not m10 or that I'm using apple computer? Any ideas? Thanks C
Hi Chris: The issue is really only one of modifying the settings on the Spektrum Dx7 and also modifying the Remote Transmitter Configuration on the M10 using the Configuration app. It does not matter if you're using a Mac, Windows, or Android tablet. Can you look at page 04-P24 of the M10 manual and post the current settings you have for the "Remote Controller Config Menu" please? I'd like to check that you have made that change correctly. Thanks Andy.
Hi Chris: No it does not matter in the slightest. And it's still page 04-P24 of the manual to which you will need to refer to tell me what settings you have actually got under the DSMX 2048 column! Andy.
original values for remote control config radio type = value DSM2 2048 remote mode value 6 remote pan -2 remote pan rate 1 remote tilt -3 remote tilt rate -7 remote roll trim -4 remote shutter 0 shutter type pulsed and of corse i changed the values for remote roll trim to 0 and remote pan to -4 and wrote the settings I've attached screen shot of remote to show rudder value of 100 all this did was kill the pan all together sorry i hope I'm giving you the right information Thanks Chris View attachment 7798 View attachment 7798 View attachment 7798 View attachment 7798
Hmm. That is indeed strange. Can you try this: In the MōVI configuration app, with it connected to the MōVI via Bluetooth, use System -> Save Settings and save the settings to a file on your computer. Then post that file using the "Upload a File" button at the bottom right hand corner of the new message window for this forum. Sorry this is so tedious but we need to work through everything systematically. Andy.
Chris: One other thing...on the Configurator app...you currently show DSM2 2048. Can you see if there is a setting for DSMX 2048 please? I'm going from memory and don't have access to a working MōVI/configuration app right now....it's just something that's nagging at me. Andy.
And, for anyone else who reads this thread, the .cfg is a plain text file and contains the following and the Map Remote Pan is indeed set correctly to -1 so the left/right movement of the left stick should be controlling the pan. Autotune Percentage,50 Aux Port Function,0 Data Logging,0 Declination,0 Frame Overlap,25.0 Gimbal Application,0 Gyro Filter,5 Heading Assist,0 Lens Focal Length,50.0 Logging Rate,0 Map Remote Mode,6 Map Remote Pan,-4 Map Remote Pan Rate,1 Map Remote Roll Trim,0 Map Remote Shutter,0 Map Remote Tilt,-3 Map Remote Tilt Rate,-7 Max Tilt Angle,70 Min Tilt Angle,-110 Motion Booting,0 Output Filter,5 Pan Hold Strength,8 Pan Joystick Expo,10 Pan Joystick Smoothing,5 Pan Joystick Window,8 Pan Smoothing,10 Pan Stiffness,81 Pan Trim,0.0 Pan Window,10 Pan/Tilt Remote Speed Adjustment,1 Pointing Accuracy,0.5 Radio Type,1 Remote Rate Scale,100 Roll Hold Strength,8 Roll Stiffness,31 Roll Trim,0.0 Sensor Height,24.0 Sensor Width,36.0 Setdown Sleep,0 Shaky-cam Pan,0 Shaky-cam Tilt,0 Shutter Duration,0.5 Shutter Mode,0 Shutter Period,2.0 Shutter Type,0 Tilt Control Mode,0 Tilt Hold Strength,8 Tilt Joystick Expo,10 Tilt Joystick Smoothing,5 Tilt Joystick Window,8 Tilt Mode,1 Tilt Smoothing,10 Tilt Stiffness,24 Tilt Window,5 Timelapse Pan Rate,2.50 Timelapse Tilt Rate,1.25
Yes, change to DSMX 2048. That's what is shown in the manual on 04-P24. If that doesn't fix it, look at page 19 of the DX7s manual -- the Servo Monitor screen. Move the left stick left and right -- you should see the RUD (4th one down) indicator moving left and right. Let me know what you see.
it wouldn't be any of these other 6 toggle switches on the remote would it? maybe one got bumped ? I flip them now and don't see any difference.....
Hot Damn Got it!!! instead of making the adjustment in D/R Expo I made it in the servo setup screen.. Go to throttle switch change to rudder.. roll value from 0-100 go to remote config and change roll trim from -4 to 0 and remote pan from -2 to -4 and Walla!!!!! it could have something to with the change you had me do on radio type as well to DSMX 2048 Any Way a small victory that feels big!!! thanks for your help!!! Could have never even gotten close without you... Ill start on my next question soon )))))))) lol
