Thanks Andy, maybe I'm missing something but those links didn't really explain what the difference between the two modes are. Is there any detailed info about the difference?
I've not seen any more detailed information, I'm afraid. Do you have some specific questions that you could post -- perhaps that would help? Andy.
From the manual. Gimbal Application - Configures the gimbal for either Handheld or Airborne use. In Handheld use, the center position of the Dual Operator Mode Switch enables Pan Majestic operation. In Airborne use, the center position of the Dual Operator Mode Switch parks the Gimbal for takeoff and landing.
In Aerial Mode does the MoVi pan motor be disabled? So the multi-rotor doesn't spin around the pan axis? If so does it sense when take off and turn the pan motor on? Just trying to figure this out and what is best practice for flying with the Alta.
Rory pan motor is in standby. You turn it on either once you are in the air or just prior to liftoff with copter ready to fly.
I'm not sure this is the only difference. Every time I've used airborne mode the gimbal seems very sloppy and doesn't perform as well as in hand held mode. No idea what causes this though.
