    Hi,
I have a Cinestar 3 axis gimbal that we use with our epic. I have balanced it well and get very good results. However, now I have changed the four`t servo on it! Two on the roll, one on the tilt and one on the pan. They just stop working! One began to smoke before it died completely.

I've had other large gimbals like the CF30 and Photohiger AV200. They have not been as well-balanced, but I have not broken any servos.

I have submitted my servos to my dealer who sent them to you, but you said improper use or something.? I use a Red epic x with a small and light 24mm canon lens, superflexible cabels for power and hdmi.

A servo can break even if it is used correctly, i should knowi used to run a RC hobbyshop before i got into film..

I just paid the first down payment on MoviMR Can not wait to get a brushless gimbal for our epic :)

Please let me know if you have a solution for me.

    Best regards!

Daniell welcome to the forums. One question would be what voltage are you running to the servos? What are you using to control them (Radians or something else)? Photos of your setup would also help.

What would you like to see Gary? Cabels or the back of the gimbal?

Daniell I would check the actual voltage going to the servos with a meter. My first suspicion would be that if they are failing would be voltage higher than 6 volts. The Radians won't have a problem with higher voltage but the servos are another story.

I would lower your voltage to 5v. I use 5 on my setup (even when flying the EPIC) and have never had an issue. I believe Tabb also flys them at 5v.

Daniell, Josh is spot on. 5 volts will do the job and give you a safe cushion for the servos.
