As a general rule, I think the consensus is: Don't. The longer form of that is: Don't do it unless you're prepared to sacrifice the aircraft. The high powered radio transmitters, even though operating outside the 2.4Ghz band, emit so much energy that they will mostly likely bleed across the frequencies and interfere with your flight controls and you will likely lose control of the aircraft.
