hello friends, Ramon Velez de Panama I have a problem with the motor 2, the CineStar 8. Do not turn it on, occasions, more often now ... Yesterday and today we have tended to calibrate the compass every time before using the CineStar 8. When connected to the computer everything is Ok. like the case of Chris. Today would not turn in the work field ... Any suggestions! Sorry for my English Ramón Vélez Strocchia / strocchia@me.com / +507 6613-2055 Black Cat Studio Panamá, Rep of Panamá
Ramón Chris was having problems with high humidity. Early morning Fog caused him to have a motor that would not start. He would take the copter back to the hotel, less humidity and it would run fine. Perhaps that is what is happening for you. You can read Andy's reply about spraying the MK boards with a conformal coating to keep moisture out.
Thanks for your answer Gary, Panama is a country by nature wet, I'll try to get the product and see what happens, we are now Transporting the CineStar 8 on my Pickup, without cover. The temperature changes are frequent. Many Thanks for the Attention. Ramón Vélez Strocchia
The Catch-22 is that you need the cooling, but not the airborne moisture. Heat sinks on the MOSFETs and a coating of conformal acrylic coating solves the problem. Andy.
Tks Andy, in case you did not get the product coating of conformal acrylic to apply. what other things I can use? Thanks, Ramon
I have some buddies over a liquipel... you should waterproof your boards Even if you take a dip... http://www.liquipel.com However... it is still experimental though :/
waooo ... Thanks Zach! if I had doubts of getting acrylic conformal coating of Panama, I think it will be impossible to get the Liquipel ... I'm in Panama Central America, Rep of Panama, these products are not common around here! 'll do my best to get them. Thanks for your help ... regards Ramon Velez Strocchia strocchia@me.com
Ramon: There's really not much beyond the "shower cap" approach, I'm afraid. I have seen some people add small fans to blow air across the MOSFETs on the BL-Ctrl, but that only increases cooling rather than dealing with the fundamental issue of the MOSFETs being very susceptible to moisture. Andy
Liquipel specializes in waterproofing circuit boards in phones. They put (whatever) in their pressurized gas chamber and their chemical bonds on the boards. However, it is still experimental. I've had mixed results with their product -- but most of the time water beads right off That's if you're flying in a pool...
Hello, out of the problem with the engine that will not start, now we have something new ... Requesting status information from Flight-Ctrl ... Version 0.90d ErrorCodes: 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x08 0x00 - Hardware: Acc NICK Error It actulizo indicating the version diacnostico window, without results. so far we have tried to calibrate again and hisimos Compas communication tests with cables. Nothing is working Ramon Velez Black Cat
Another error... Requesting status information from Flight-Ctrl... Version 0.90j Errorcodes: 0x28 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 - Hardware: Acc NICK error - Hardware: Acc Z error (FlightCtrl installed upside down ?)
Ramon: Can you give us more information please? 1. Is this a new installation of the FC board or has it been installed and working fine before this error started? 2. Do you have the new Accelerometer upgrade installed or not? 3. Can you post an image or two of how the Flight Control board is installed? The errors you are getting indicate that the Flight Control firmware is getting an "out of range" reading from the accelerometer. Thanks Andy.
Thanks Andy, I'm back to the office tomorrow, I'm in a production of video and photos for a client far away. today try everything. Install, resetting, reinstalling, compass calibration and nothing worked. I promise post a video with the details of the error and the procedure we are doing. Regards, thank you for your attention.
