Has anyone got verbage in their agreements for releasing liability of flying a camera that doesn't belong to you? For instance the production company has a Red Epic that they rented and they want to use it on your aerial rig. Do you simply accommodate them and file a claim under your insurance if something goes wrong and the camera is lost or damaged in a mishap or do you have them sign some release that your not liable for the recovery of the loss due to a mishap? It's interesting when others simply throw you a $40k camera and lens with accessories to fly around without so much as a thought.

Ideally, if you are being hired by a production company, you should be asking for their COI to cover your gear, not the other way around.

When I'm the production company, I insure any rented equipment and/or crew gear. When I'm a hired gun, my gear goes on the employers insurance.

    Hope it helps.
