Whilst upgrading my Cinestar to a medium/heavy lifter, I realized that I had a surplus pile of most of the guts of a Cinestar left over. So I got just enough carbon fiber frame parts to fill in the blanks, as well as another Navi board, and low and behold, I present the Cinespare! :D

And while I don’t have a gimbal on it yet, (I have one, but haven’t had the time to integrate it), I just stuck a GoPro to one of the booms and flew around a little. I was flying with just one battery at an AUW of 8.9 pounds (4KG or so). And it’s amazing how it feels with all that power and very little to weigh it down. Here’s the GPX header, and as you can see, it’s barely breaking a sweat. AH and PH are rock solid, and it felt like it could just hover up there for hours. It’s a little unbalanced because of the GoPro.

Nice! How come the motor wires are outside the booms?

I do that whenever I'm working on my configurations, because it's a lot faster to assemble and disassemble the copter with the wires outside the booms. It doesn't really have any impact on anything, and sometimes I'll just leave them there. It looks a little messy, but I'm less concerned with that, then I am with the ease of assembly and disassembly.

I think it makes the copter look quite festive, Steve. You could even put a few sprigs from trees into the motor wires to give it that arboreal feel. :)

    Andy.
