Hello Alta Friends I noticed follow issue during the Alta start: Engines should be started as follow: Power up Alta Select Manual Mode Set Home Switch in middle pos. Hold full low throttle and full left yaw In my case i have to do the following steps to start the engines: Power up Alta Select Manual Mode Set Home Switch in middle pos. Hold full low throttle left yaw and then go directly to the right yaw... just in this case the Motors will start!? Did anyone has the same start procedure ore did someone knows why i have to do it different than in the manual? VIDEO HERE Thank you for you help
Ricardo your steps are correct. Hold full LOW throttle and left 'arms' the system. Full LOW throttle and Right starts the motors. Without doing the first step the motors will not start. See pages 30-31 in the Alta setup document.
However, to *stop* the motors and disarm them (so you cannot start them until you have re-armed them), it's throttle to zero and full left yaw. You can only stop the motors in Manual Mode. (See page 84 of the Rev. C manual). Andy.
i start in manual mode and switch to height mode when ALTA is in the air. I didn't try to start in height mode (like DJI WKM/A2). I didn't find something about this in the manual. Is it okay to start in height mode?
I don't think the motors will actually start in anything but manual mode. If you start the motors in manual, and then switch to height hold, the manual warns about possible tip-overs -- and, unless you have spare props, this might be a Really Bad Thing. I got my ALTA back yesterday, so once I've got all the FPV stuff back on it, I want to try a takeoff in position hold -- which is useful for some flight profiles were you really need to go straight up... Andy.
yes - sometimes there is little room and time for switching after takeoff. landing in height mode is no problem. it would be great if we could takeoff in height mode.
