I am having power issues... I do not want to run 12 cables to the camera and through off balance. I want to power he BMCC though for power and I have the V Lock plate with V lock batteries right now. But I need to power the camera, Teradek, and RR Micro Focus, and a DP6. How can this be done without running to many cables up and down. I would like to keep everything on the gimble but that would be way to heavy.. Ugh this is hard.. I am open to ideas..

I've been really tempted to use a battery bag that I wear like a fanny pack, then run some flexible silicon (aka silicone) coated wire up to the MōVI and use a suitable twist lock power connector so that everything on the MōVI is powered from the battery bag.

I have some LiFePO4 batteries that look like sealed lead acid gel cells but only weigh 935 grams (a tad over 2 lbs) that have a capacity of 6,600 mAH. (http://www.batteryspace.com/lifepo4beltbagpowerbattery128v68ah8704wh14aratefastsmartcharger.aspx is the current model).

We are also in the testing stages for a BMCC - Movi setup. As far as camera power, we are using the Switronix PB70-BMCC and so far the best option is to have the operator sling the battery instead of adding the battery (and its weight) to the MōVI. I'll attach a picture to illustrate better. All we added to the battery was a D-Link Screw and a Kata camera strap.

Power solutions for the additional accessories, here's what we're thinking:

    - Redrock Micro microRemote FF - We ordered a couple extra lipo batteries and the Freefly Battery to 2 Pin Lemo.
    - We're using the Paralinx system and powering with a Mophie Juice Pack.
    - For the on-board monitor, we're using the Marshall V-LCD56MD powered with Sony batteries.

As far as cable management, velcro and bongo ties do wonders!

Quick and dirty pic of our first BMCC setup. Still waiting for Teradek and Bartech...
Worked out well...but will be optimized...

Zeiss Planar 28/2.1, Arri Clm-2 and Mcu-1 powered by an extra lipo.

I did not even think of mounting it upside-down! Here was my first attempt when using it.[IMG]

    Hi,

ok, i find it easier upside down, for more headroom in the tilt axis and easier to balance (for me)...

I didn't even try it the other way, coming from the copter world...;-)

Nope, the rig switches the directions automatically, detects the upside down mode...
But i programmed a transmitter switch to change directions also...

I'm shooting with a Denz 4k BMPC with ultraprimes, Heden Carat FF, Paralinx and my custom filter stage at a feature film project right now. Weight about 5.0 kg/11 lbs.

Current settings: Pan 95, Roll 75, Tilt 56, Gyrofilter: 6, Output filter: 6.

In this case, the cam is mounted rail at the bottom.

    Cheers,

    Hallo
    I use a M10 with a black Magic Production Camera 4K.
So I tuck the original Battery away and take a V-Mount and a power distributer on his place
the problem I have got now if the battery is not fresh and the Voltage goes under 14.5V the M10 will switch off.

    Hi Trevor,

i built my own carbon filter stage, now also incl. french flag. It holds MB-5 filter frames (4x56) and weighs about 150 gr. You can change the clamps rings, made of a special carbon strengthened pom to fit different lenses, like Ultraprimes or Cookes. I´m thinking of selling those, so shoot me a mail if you are interested.

The thing below the cam is my Heden Carat ff receiver.

    Wolf

I could fabricate adapters/clamps for all sizes. The clamp is changeable with 4 M3 screws using the MōVI Tool. Also the main clamp screw is the same as the M-10 screws, so just one tool needed.
