Anyone have success finding Lipo Batterys that work with the freefly M5? 75 buck for 2 Lipo Batteries seems A little high. you can purchase this http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=57468 for $ 11 a pop. and have a local hobby shop convert the connector to a JST. Has anyone done this?
Bleuhayes welcome to the forums. Would you be kind enough to change your user name to your real first name and last name, please? The reasons for this (and how to do it) are explained here: http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/real-names.497/.
Technically they should work, but there are two issues: sizes are close -- Turnigy: 77 x 34 x 29mm Freefly: 69mm (L) x 34mm (W) x 28mm (H) putting a JST on the Turnigy is difficult as the Freefly battery has a very small gauge wire, which makes using a JST practical. The Turnigy looks like a heavier gauge wire, which is tricky with the tight quarters in a JST. You would probably void your warranty on the MōVI by doing so, and that might not be worth the $20 savings.
