    New production ALTA

    Attached a pre-bound Futaba 14SG RX/TX.

    Radio is reporting telemetry.

    The ALTA app shows LOS.

Radio version number and it reports 4.0.

The Radio is set up with the ALTA profile.

*Why is it reporting LOS? IMG_2935.PNG IMG_2936.PNG

I would try re-binding receiver to the radio. Double check the type of setup you have.

Re-bind has been completed and LOS remains. *Unsuccessful

Which port are you hooked up to on the receiver and which receiver is it?

Photos of where you are plugged in on the ALTA and also as mentioned by Adam where you are connected on the RX.

If I recall correctly, you should be plugged into the SBUS/CH8................Not the SBUS2

Is the radio receiver installed between booms 1 and 2 or 5 and 6?

It should be between booms 1 and 2.

Booms 1 and 2 are the only place you can get voltage for the telemetry downlink. ;)

True....but Chad only wrote "Radio is reporting telemetry." Not quite sure whether that meant he was getting flight battery data. You still get telemetry (e.g. Receiver voltage) if the receiver is between booms 5 and 6. :)

Is this correct? I have my receivers plugged into the SBUS2 port and no LOS problems. In the manual it looks like they have plugged into the SBUS2 port.

Reading my Futaba manual, the SBUS2 is for telemetry only. The standard SBUS is on output 8 of the receiver.

Adam sBus2 is for both rc control channels and telemetry. If you don't want to use the telemetry from the Alta then you can use the standard sBus port but king of defeats the purpose of using the Futaba system.

I guess I need to school up a bit. In looking at the Futaba manual, they show the Sbus for control and the Sensor buss as Sbus2. Now I have telemetry for voltage on the voltage port on the the receiver hooked up. Do you get any additional information on the downlink using the SBUS2? :)

I just looked in both ALTA manuals and don't see anything about and advantage between SBUS and SBUS2. No added telemetry. Voltage sensing still has to be via the Mini 2 pin connector under the radio hatch.

Adam from the 14SG manual I found multiple bits that say telemetry is part of sBus2 but nothing where it is part of standard sBus. That being said the manuals through translation are notoriously known to be wrong in many instances. So if you are using the sBus only and getting voltage that is contrary to the manual. Or that the Ext voltage isn't considered a 'telemetry sensor'.

    Telemetry System
The R7008SB receiver features bi-directional communication with the FASSTest Futaba transmitter using eh S.BUS2 port. Using the S.BUS2 port an impressive array of telemetry sensors may be utilized. It alsoincludes both standard PWM output ports and S.BUS output ports.
Telemetry is available only in the FASSTest 14CH mode. (12CH mode displays only Receiver battery
    voltage and Extra battery voltage.)
The telemetry function requires the corresponding receiver (R7008SB)
The T14SG will enter and keep the ID number of the R7008SB that is linked to it.
