I hit all and just number 5. In both cases it didn't help.

Well, setting the starting PWM shouldn't have caused I2C bus errors, even if you did set them all.

I tried the PWM change, and it had no effect. Here’s what mine do. It’s not always the same motor...there are 3 that randomly exhibit this problem. If I give it some more throttle, they do eventually start. And it flies well.

I turned on the scope in MK Tool to watch for I2C errors, and there were none.

The same thing happens with the motor test. I have to turn the motor up to 7 or 8 in order to get them to reliably start.

I’ll post this over on the MK forum and see what they say.

Steve it looks like its the same motor that does it for you (top motor toward the camera)? Also I don't know if its my sponge like brain that's just hearing it but to me I hear some bad sounds coming from the motors a few times not only when you are starting it but also when the motors are running (around the 53-57 second mark). I'm listening to it through a good set of Behringer studio monitors. Like I said maybe its just me, just wanted to point that out in case.

    HI David

I assume that after you hit all, and it didn't work you went back and readjusted all the motors to the stock setting, and then tried to just apply the settings to #5?

Yes, I heard that, too. One of the motors sounds a little like it might have a twitchy bearing, but it’s not one that stutters. And the video clearly shows the frontmost motor, but trust me, there are 2 others which bind up periodically.

    Hi Dave,

Yes i did exactly that. I also tried to adjust individual motors that were starting normally to see the effect. In the end i left them at the default setting

Flori over at QC suggested a PWM setting of 4. He's also going to contact Holger about this and would like to hear from others who are having similar issues. Perhaps it a simple firmware fix?

I'm going to miss the quality of Axi once I cross over to Tiger. I've been using the same set of sixteen 2826 Axi motors for two years now and they're all still smooth running.

Try leaving the StartPWM at 2, disable dynamic breaking, and turn up the min gas to 15.

One more thing, did the motors have starting issues with props off?

    Best,
    Jeff

    Thanks, Jeff!
I’ll try that once Andy sends for his Portandia weather to be returned to him (and he sends their weather back to Buffalo where it belongs).
We needed rain in the worst way, and we got it!

    Yes.

I'm sorry, but Portland is closed right now. We had 2" of snow. We don't know what to do with snow. But it seems like it might be more fun than rain.

    Andy.
