Hello everyone, Some of you using Epic or similar cameras at the same weight level. Has anyone have a problem with servos torque? For instance, for 5D MKII, it needs to be balanced perfectly in order to tilt servo work good. Otherwise, servo doesn't have the enough power to tilt the camera at 5V. I have not tried supplying 6V. It's very easy to make Cinestar work with different cameras, with longer booms and adjustable tilt bar. So it comes to question if the servos power enough to handle the weight. We can easily add a second servo on the opposite arm of gimbal. Would it be possible to mix them with Radians to work in parallel so we can get lots of power to handle big cameras?
That's a good question, but I think Tabb or JohnC will need to respond to it. As I am in the software business, my answer would be: "It should work." But software people often say that when we really have absolutely no clue as to whether or not it will work. Those of you running Windows know what I mean... Andy.
i am very curious about this as well. i am trying to use my fs100 with a 18-35 lens and i definitely feel i could use a little more power and control.
How much power does the Radians suplly to the servo? I mean if is 6v the you share that voltage with two servos unless you use the signal wire from the Radian and supply a bec to feed power to the two servos no? Bill
Remember that more torque = less speed. If you wnat more torque then you comprimise speed. check out this one http://www.servocity.com/html/hs-7980th_servo.html a bit slow but lots of torque Bill
Interesting. Not sure I could live with that high pitched (about 8Khz) whining noise as the motors operate.... Andy.
