I was giving my copter a good go over and I noticed something that I can't believe I overlooked. The power wire coming off the PDB is only 12 gauge wire. I thought for sure it was 10 gauge but its not. I double checked with Quadrocopter and then don't put 10 gauge on any of their PDB's. My copters power wires get pretty hot with the 7D payload and I"m doing a job where I'm hovering to take shots. Who's using 10 gauge wire and where are you buying it? Will the connectors for the EC5 accept 10 gauge?

10 AWG? 12 AWG? You are thinking too small. I am having a little trouble managing my AUW, however.

But it does explain why, about 900 feet from home you come to a really sudden stop. :)
Is that the wiring for the Beany-CopterĀ® by the way?

    Andy.

I'm surprised more people aren't using 10 gauge power wire especially those running 2 batteries.

I am using 10 awg wire to my power distribution board but ran into a challenge, i.e., can't see to find connector plugs that will slip over the silicone insulation.....

had to remove some of the insulation to get the connectors soldered on..... then use multiple layers of heat shrink as insulation after..... work but not as clean as I had hoped.
