    Hi Graham,

Just saw that you were on line and thought I would ask the question of the XL with the Movi Controller and A1 tools wheels having a pan drift.

    Any way to stop this?

I go in to the Dual Op menu and set the Pan Josytick Window to 1 or 2, and then assign Pan Drift correction to one of the User Knobs. Between dialing out the drift and having a small window, it seems to help.

Thanks Graham for the info. I'll give it a try when I get to set. Have a great long weekend.

Pan drift is a general issue on Movi gimbals. On Movi XL, when powered up, tilt down 90 degrees and wait a few minutes. This helps a lot to minimize the drift.

Another work around would be: Change the heading assist to compass. And then you can adjust the pan trim through the app. I always leave the app open if fixed pan position is a must.

Another solution would be getting a FOG addition to XL which is another 25K$ :))

Thanks Ozkan for the info. I will try the 90degree tilt trick next setup. Do you use the Alpha wheels? I am finding that there are not many options, on the Movi Controller, that control the wheels. The pan, tilt and rolls dials have not effect on the wheels. Do you find the same thing? I've also assigned the Focus Dial to the roll function and it's not a smooth roll. Is there a way to adjust the speed and smoothness of the roll?

    Thanks for the help,
    Brian

Graham, I also tried your trick but was unable to find the Pan Joystick Window under the Dual Op menu on the Movi Controller.

Use the app on your phone to find this setting.

Also, I assign Roll to the zoom rocker on the side of the Movi controller.

Cool, I'll give that zoom rocker a try. You find it to be a smoother controller?

I like it for some Roll situations, depending on what you need. If you're doing driving work and need to adjust level on the fly, it's pretty good, you can hold the Roll where you want. If you're doing Roll 360's, you can dial it in and feather it.
