    The Honeywell Aerospace UAV group is looking for a contract pilot with possibility to be converted to fulltime employee. The UAV group conducts commercial inspections, as well as R&D. Applicant must have at least 5 years of experience in commercial operations, and remote pilot certificate. Pixhawk experience is a plus. Applicant's operations must be well documented.

    Launching a new business unit that will focus on developing a significant and sustainable position in the fast growing commercial UAV industry. This new business unit will leverage the broad set of capabilities within Company, as well as develop new capabilities that are required to meet the needs of this adjacent market. As a part of this team you will be responsible primarily for flight testing and operations for the technologies and products developed under this initiative.

    In this role you will: Conduct and support UAS flight operations at Company and customer sites. Interface routinely with the R&D team to meet project-specific technical discussions and needs. Perform payload integration, mechanical fabrication, electronics wiring and autopilot tuning in support of ongoing R&D and test activities. Maintain detailed logs of platforms flight times, maintenance records, FAA authorization and waivers, flight batteries, and documents activities in accordance with standard operating procedures. Maintain UAV lab inventory record, orders parts and supplies. Take care of logistics associated with the transportation of equipment to test sites. Be responsible for the maintenance and preparation of flight and ground support equipment.

    Required
    Part 107 certified and experienced with obtaining FAA Part 107 airspace authorization requests and waivers
    Associate degree or higher in Engineering Technology, enrolled in an engineering degree program at an accredited university or equivalent

    Excellent drone piloting skills with experience on quadcopters and hexacopters
    Experienced using Pixhawk autopilot and Mission planner
    Skills necessary to perform basic electronics troubleshooting
    Hands-on with the ability to quickly design and fabricate payload fixtures and mounts
    Detail oriented, self-motivated and a team player
    Experienced working in a fast paced demo-oriented environment.

    10% local travel where driving is required - position will involve some testing off site. Typically 10 to 20 miles away and approximately once ever other week on average. Travel will be with another engineer.

    50% non-local, travel by air is required - Position will involve flying a drone to photograph structures at the request of the Customer. Trips will vary in length, typically, from 1 to 3 days.
