I have a few questions about the rig itself because the center bar appears to be upside down, one of the two center pipes is out of its holder and additionally I notice one pipe is shorter than the other. I have a few pics. Can anyone confirm if these are normal?

I’m assuming both of these pipes should be in the holder, not just one, but it doesn’t seem to slide. I figure I may have to manually unscrew some parts but don’t want to do something that I shouldn’t.

Thanks so much for your help!

Woah. Something's not set up right. Where are the battery cages? Did this thing come to you in pieces?

It appears to be upside down -- the Toad in the Hole should be pointing up. Not sure why those tubes are different lengths. They should be the same.

This may be hard to straighten out via a bunch of forum posts.

Cody can you shoot a few more photos. But backup so that we can see the entire rig, maybe holding the pan motor so that the top bar is horizontal to the ground. Then a front, back and both sides photo.

Thanks guys! I realized the shorter bar may have been installed for the MR upgrade. Just worried that I don’t have the original bar. Everything is more or less in parts, and because it also includes the Mimic it’s all the more confusing to distinguish the parts. Wanted to start with the rig itself since there are definitely some issues.

    Thanks again!

I'll see if I can pull my M15 out and take some pics. I've been having trouble uploading photos to the Forum lately for some reason.

You have a couple of things upside down, including your top bar. The Female Toad connector should point Up. Also, your Roll bar looks upside down -- if the camera were facing away from you, the tilt motor should be on your left. You just need to roll it over, and probably lower the cage on the center of gravity so it won't just flip over on you.

Thanks Graham! I followed your advice and was able to get everything right side up. This looks more familiar now! I was looking for 2x 250mm rods when it should be 200mm and the 250 is an extra for the MR upgrade so turns out all good there.

I may be back, I have to reattach the battery cages now

There’s a lot of extraneous cords included (would ask the seller for more info but I bought through Adorama) and it’s hard to tell which I need.

My Mimic transmitter came attached to this small pole. Does anyone know why? From what I’ve seen it should be attached to the handle bar?

Next question — I have this (2nd image) dangling off my M15. What exactly is its function and any suggestions where I should attach it to? I know the Wi-Fi adapter is to allow me to connect my iPhone via an app.

3rd image is the Mimic receiver I believe? Where does that usually attached to? Reading the manual it seems like it should go where the WiFi adapter is currently?

1st image is a box labeled GPS with a cable that connects to the dangling box in image 2 — is this only for drone function or do I need this?

And lastly, does anyone recognize these cords and whether or not they are needed for basic operation of the Mimic and M15? I think some may be used for drone operataion? I don’t have a Spektrum controller either.

Hi Cody, How are you going with your M15 setup..??
    all sorted..??

If not, this is what I did when I got mine and new nothing about it.

Go onto You tube and look up M15 unboxing, setups etc. There is a lot you can learn from there, teaches you the basics from balancing to fine tuning.
It can also help to look up pictures of them online, just to look at how different people set theirs up, I will attach a couple of photo's of how we have been using ours with an Alexa Mini. Our setup is used full time on a drama so it doesn't change much and I also built it so we can go from a Steadi-cam arm to the Crane or the Rickshaw just by releasing the toad, very simple and very quick.

    Hey Graham,

Do you happen to know the lengths of the carbon fiber tubes for the roll axis of the MoVi Pro? Trying to source some replacement parts after an incident on set.

    Thanks!

Hi Ryan, On the Movi Pro, the motor side tube looks to be about 60mm long, while the non-motor side tube looks about 80mm. Those are rough measurements because I don't want to take them apart.

You could possibly lengthen the tubes, and I think I saw a photo where Richard Moriarty apparently did this to accommodate a Sony Venice. The guys at Ignite Digi have been doing some mods to Movi Pro as well. One challenge is the cable going through the tube. You could pull it out, but it might be too short when you lengthen the arms.
