Hey there, I was using the Movi Pro mounted to a tripod so i could use it as a remote head... I also connected the Redrock Torque motor directly to the Movi Pro so i could get access to FIZ control through the Movi Controller. I only had 1 motor so i only connected the Zoom. Then all of a sudden i kept losing connection to the Motor while shooting which required me to reset and re-calibrate the motor every minute or so. (I also did not have a wireless video feed so i connected an HDMI directly to my monitor which required me to stand 1-2m away from the rig) Anyone else experiencing this and knows what the issue is?
What firmware versions are you running on Movi Pro and Movi Controller? Did you select the correct Motor Type (Redrock) in the menu? The motor could possibly be overheating. Were you able to have other functions working with the Movi Controller, like Pan and Tilt, while the motor wasn't working?
Hi Timothee, I recently experienced something similar with another motor and the mimic. Just as you described I kept losing connection requiring me to re-calibrate. In my case I believe the problem was that I had not been able to configure the optimal settings for my motor due to a missing firmware update, which had also given the motor some terrible lag. Have you been able to set up the required settings for your RR motor on the Movi Controller? If everything is fine there I would probably check the receiver of the Movi Controller on the Movi Pro... Best, Dave
Hey Graham, I see that i am running v3.0.1. i will test everything once the firmware is updated and get back to you. Thanks for the help
Hi Timothee, I guess your Controller Receiver is connected to the COM2 port of the MoVI Pro. Use COM1.
While you can plug into either COM ports with the MōVI Controller Receiver, the ports have different capabilities. COM1 has support for FIZ, PTR and API COM2 has support for PTR, RC controller input and API
