I have a couple of sliders that use the usb port on the Sony cameras to control the shutter button. Is there any way to start and stop movie recording using Mimic like you can on a Red? If not I would love to throw in a feature request. If the Mimic will work with the Carbon then it should be pretty easy to do since Carbon is reported to use the same camera. Thanks...
I bought the USB cable from Freefly that was recommended for the Sony A7 series cameras. Is there any way to get that cable to do anything but supply power to the camera? It would be great if you could roll the camera from the app or the mimic. I would even be happy to write some code if anyone has some suggestions.
I contacted support a few months ago and they said that Sony has camera control locked down. I assume they'll be doing something because of the Carbon but we may have to wait till that comes out. I have a hardwired controller for Start/Stop but haven't found a way to do it with the Mimic.
