Nope but I just bought the ignite digi version, I like it better because the cable isn't integrated, cables go bad
The idea of a adapter that small plugging into the battery plate is nice! I may go ignite as well though. the security of a locking adapter that clicks into the plate and the plug is worth it. plus breakout cables for sale for other power sources. pricey, but professional
Ignite says you need pretty large V-mounts -- 120wH minimum -- or a 24V block battery. Since most of my camera batts are 95wH, I'm not sure if they'd work, but Julie at Vaxxis says any camera battery will do. Movi Pro is 24V, so these adapters are stepping up the voltage. I'm not sure I see the point of this particular adapter over Movi Pro batteries. Can anyone point out a good use for it that I'm missing? Longer run time? Not having to buy Movi Pro batteries? The cable looks pretty short to be useful outside of mounted to the Ring.
It's because movi pro batteries are not 100 percent reliable in my opinion and experience And bigger batteries for longer run times can be useful in a ton of scenarios And a professional is always prepared for any situation And the Anton baur 95w batteries will work as they are 10amp if you want to stay smaller
The ignite digi version has a port for a cable so you can get any length you want, it's standard arri 2 pin lemo
Hi Jake, I think highly of the Ignite Digi adapter, but this Vaxis one seems more limited and my comments are directed at it specifically.
there is no real point besides solving any power draw issues or reliability issues with movi pro batteries. Dunno if it even solves power draw issues, and is pretty inefficient form factor for sure.
Hey Graham, Just clarifying here as well as the other thread sorry. Our adapter requires batteries that can output 10A or ~120W. They don't need to be 120Wh+. IDX made thes 95Wh E-HL10DS which work well. http://www.idxtek.com/products/e-hl10ds/ Cheers, Tom
