So I finally have enough cash to make the purchase, however I am a noob and don't know what I need to get started. I have a Red Epic W with the DSMC2 Monitor. I've never used p taps and remote follow focuses and what nots, any help clarifying what I need is much appreciated!

We just have the bare bones Red Epic W, no base expanders or anything

What size Red Monitor do u have? I just got the Movi and my 7inch wont last more than 2 mins with the Movi Pro. I started running the Red Brick on it now. I guess it needs more watts to run the 7inch. Just a heads up.

HI Jake, which monitor cable do you use? Do you use a POGO to Lemo adapter from RED?

you will have issues with the 7" DSMC2 using MoviPro Dtap connections/ non-red Lemo connectors

I use the wooden Camera top plate with lemo ports, I have a lemo 7" touch, not the pogo version

I honestly don't see what anyone would use pogo anything

Got it. It looks like the original poster of this thread has the DSMC2 Pogo version of the 7" monitor. I wonder if some of the power problems I've heard about might be related to the two different versions of 7" RED Displays. Just guessing, but maybe trying to narrow things down.

I run the wooden camera pogo version and can't get it to run more than 2 mins from freefly dtap connector.
