After several tries of restoring the 'bricked' movi with the jumper cable, upon updating it keeps stating " Failed to update firmware! If Device supports Wifi and Bluetooth please reboot devise and update using Bluetooth" Followed all the steps on the site for restoring Movi with the jumper cable, is there any way to obtain an older firmware version aside from the Akira that I can try to install?
HI Clyde, can you please provide a little more information? What device (Android, Apple iOS, Mac OS) are you using to update? What version of the App are you using? How new is your Movi? Is it connecting via Bluetooth or Wifi? Are you updating to Akira 5.0.2? Did you contact Freefly Support at Support@FreeflySystems.com? With a bricked Movi, that's your best bet.
I'm using a Mac with the latest 1.9 version configuration on El Capitan. I am connecting via Bluetooth successfully, it just fails during the update (Akira 5.0.2). I contacted FreFly support but they won't be open until Monday.
If you can get your hands on an Android device, phone or tablet, I'd recommend trying that instead of the Mac. It wouldn't be the first Mac I've heard of that's had trouble updating the firmware.
I've seen the same problem -- but I don't know why it happens with the Mac. I begin to wonder whether it is a timing problem and the Mac is too "busy." Andy.
