    Hey guys.

All up weight 39.2lbs at 320ft msl 30.1 mmHg

So I'm getting a solid red light saying motor fault.

    Has anyone else seen this?

Motor Rpm at hover is 4700rpms.

    Motor output at 70%

    Motor temps 55 degrees Celsius.

This is frustrating telling the client I can't fly the angenieux zoom.

Has anyone operated with this error?

Flew 5 minutes at 25kts before error occurred.

After error I shed another .5 lbs and received error once again.

I will send photos in am.

Thinking about operating despite the warning...

Drop an email to support@freeflysystems.com right away, Davis....they might be able to help diagnose the problem. Sounds a bit sketchy to fly with solid red lights....

Also send them your flight logs.

I too am getting this warning light lock out. I contact FreeFly last week and was told the firmware settings are too low and they trigger the overweight warning. That was pretty disappointing giving that I'm now flying the ALTA8 with the lightest camera setup I've even flown. With my Alta6 I never had this warning and flying much heavy loads.

I've chasing them for a fix as this bug locks out my Status LED so I have no way of know if something is really going on during a flight as the light is locked to solid red.

It would be great if FreeFly could flash the LED on the booms and keep the status LED to providing up to date status while flying and not lock it out like this. Its like flying blind at the moment which is really unsettling.

That's a huge risk getting those warnings with those kinds of payloads.

Its a bug Mike. They set the trip switch too low so that is way the alarm is going off. It will be fixed in the next firmware update which needs to be yesterday.

Hi all, may or may not be related to this thread, but can I find out if anyone (or anyone knows of anyone else) has actually succeeded in flying with the claimed max payload of 9.1 kg (or at least close to it)? I understand that at higher ambient temp, the max payload will decrease (based on what I see from their load charts). Am looking for a heavy lift multi-rotor platform to buy, so would be great to hear some input from some experienced folks.

    Hi guys,

We were just tuning the Alta 8 bare with 2 battery packs on top and 2 on the bottom for weight.
On our second flight we got a warning: MOTOR FAIL & CAN SINGLE FAIL.

Davis, is this the same error your received?
Has anyone else received this error and had it resolved?

Just to be sure... the alta app? or the Alta firmware?

Thanks for clarifying, it's the latest firmware and latest app update.

Freefly has responded and the craft requires an RMA. We will need to ship it back to the factory.
This is obviously quite disappointing, let's see how it's handled from here.

To follow up, Freefly immediately issued an RMA and covered shipping both ways via FedEx (US < > Hong Kong).
Apparently it was a faulty cable.
They expedited the repairs, so it was back in 10 days, including shipping.

All in all, it's the most that could be expected and handled well.
