Hi, Can you guys help me with the error show in the images.
From terminal all connection seems ok but there's an X and Z axis Imu error. Also the Baro got failcode 2.
Does this unit needs returning or is there something i can do?

    Thnx,Thijm

Thijm: I presume you are keeping the gimbal absolutely still while it is starting up....and, if so, then it looks like your next move should be to email to support@freeflysystems.com and see if they can help.

    Hi Andy,

Thnx for responding. The unit is rented out on shoot in Suriname. So can’t tell how they booted the movi. From what i know it has booted fine before.
    Will contact support.

Check that all the jacks are seated (x2 per motor, x3 under the hood at the back (underside)).

Thijm likely one of two things. Not properly balanced, or moving when booting. You know the learning curve on balancing and the result if you don't do it correctly. With renters there's a chance they are short cutting thinking they know better.

    Hi all,
I'm the DOP on the set in Suriname. We did keep the movi perfectly still while booting, the balance was pretty good too. I did work with M10 before so I do know how to balance a Movi.
Overall trouble is that pan is horrifically slow. Tilt seems better.
only with window and smoothing on settings like 2 or 3 it works more or less

Also when we switch on the DX-7 remote the M15 start spinning wildly in all directions :-( Pan motor makes weird noises too.
Mimic worked just fine at first, then later only tilt.
Same for majestic handheld.. Sometimes we boot and it all works fine, apart from the remote DX-7 which has never worked her in Suriname, sometimes we boot and we have no pan control.

When using the Mimic pan speed is much better (normal).

Suriname is a tropical/wet and hot climate. Could that be a reason for this failing??
It's a brand new M15 and we tested it thorowly at the rental with Thijm before leaving for Suriname of course. It was performing just fine then. Thijm also gave me and the focus pullers a half day course of all settings and need-to-know about the M15.
Mimic, DX-7 and majestic all performed well.

We open the box here in Suriname and all kinds of weird stuff starts happening.
It was transported in it's original case. All good.

Quite often the compass gives errors and that Baro failcode2 has got me worried.
Did anyone shoot Movi in tropical climates before and could advice??
Worst about all this is that errors are not consistent! sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I just can't rely on it and I can't take the risk of shooting with it.
First day of shooting tomorrow.. Hope we can fix this very quickly...

    thx a lot,
    Bart

Bart: Hopefully you'll see this message allowing for timezone differences between Pacific and Suriname, but I would suggest sending an email to support@freeflysystems.com : either copy and paste the text from your message above (preferable), or send a URL to this thread and mention message #7.

I will email FF too in the hope that they can post some suggestions...

    Andy.

Bart/Thijm give us an update on what was causing the issue and fix. That way others can learn about the fix.
