Hey Thijm, thank you very much for sharing this with us. Great job you have done with this Movi. So you have basicly converted M10 pan and vertical booms to M15's. I was trying to find spare M15 vertical arm for two tubes but with no success. Would you please share where did you found these parts for sale. Thank you very much again P.S. M10_dxf.zip is missing
Thankx a lot. The dxf files are fine now. I have checked in famoushobby web site but can't find the two pan tubes aluminum arm there. When did you have ordered it ? Probably they didn't sell them anymore.
Hey thijm, thank you very much for everything. Appreciate your help. By the way did you buy the vertical arm with the motor or they sold it to you separately ?
Have contacted Famous Hobby to ask if they can make a package from all used parts. If you are interested it will sell for $300,- you can mail them directly 2pcs 25x23x200mm carbon tube 1set 4.0mm cut carbon parts (as dxf files) 2 sets FA023 1pc Alu vertical bar (without motor cage) 10pcs stainless steel press nuts 4pcs M4x10mm round head hexagon whole thread stainless steel screw 4pcs M4x10mm cup head hexagon whole thread stainless steel screw 4pcs M3x5mm round head hexagon whole thread stainless steel screw 6pcs M3X40mm cup head hexagon half thread stainless steel screw
Thijm, i saw you have managed to extend the 25mm tubes on the side of the M10. Does this work flawlessly? I extended them and made them a few cm longer to get more clearence in the back for using more heavy lensens and for using the Alexa Mini. By this i found out, that the M10 won't boot if the extension is more than 1.5cm. By pushing it back, it boots and works as usual. Have you discovered the same problem? Is there any "savelock" in the system to stop m10s from getting modified this way? Thanks Norbert
Hi Norbert, No issues at all. Sounds like something is loose. Check if all connectors are still firmly in place. Did you cut the tie wraps on the roll bar, to give the cables more room? Both ends have 2 tie wraps. only cut the outmost on both sides (see pic). 1 tie wrap per side is fine.
Yes, i cut exactly these. I checked all connectors and even replaced the cables. It seems the sensor on the bottom of the camera mount knows how far he is away from the headunit...
Weird. I know other users who also extend them without any issues. Also fine on v5.0. 25mm tube on the motor side is 20cm in length . What are you using? http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/sony-f55-on-movi-news.3512/ http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/sony-nex-fs700-balancing-issues.2774/page-2 Maybe it's got a broken wire somewhere. Did you get the replacement imu cable with yours? Not any advice i would recommend, but you could try to extend while its powered and see if the app give any info on disconnected devices. Also the function “reset controller” in the app will reboot the device and checks all hardware for folds. Results are shown in terminal
Thank you Thijm, i will have a look at the two threads and i will check and follow your ideas next monday. My camera is out to shoot this weekend without me... Many thanks, i will keep you updated Norbert
It is most likely the sense cable plug in the tilt motor. These need to sit really tight and are easily plugged (partly) out when extending the tubes. it is not even visible on first sight. Then the M-10 won´t boot. Best, Wolf
Hi everybody, now, it works! Wolf was right.... sort of. I discovered a broken cable to the tilt motor, wich lost contact only in a certain position when extending the tubes. I made new (and slightly longer) cables and everything works flawlessly. Thank you guys Norbert
