My Movi seems to hate being switched on and put through the contortions of the compass calibration, (almost as much as I hate trying to lift the Alta with the M15 and Red Epic attached), and shows it's displeasure by freezing and then needs rebooting.

My question is, if I do the compass calibration without the Movi but then attach it, switch everything on and then check the compass reading on the OSD against a regular compass and also check the lat/long on the OSD is correct, can I take that as confirmation that the Alta will know where it is in the air?

    That's what I would do.

But then I'm often wrong, but never uncertain.

Me too. Just pop it off and do the aircraft only.

If you get any weird interactions in flight maybe then consider doing it with payload attached. :)
