    Hi guys,

Just a quick one, has anyone flown the Alexa Mini on an M10 instead of the M15..? I'm trying to work out if it's feasible, I've only had my hands on the Arri Mini prototype, but looking at the release notes, size and weight wise it looks as though it could cradle in the M10.

I just see everyone raving about it being a match made in heaven with the M15, but there's not enough coin in the piggy bank for that just yet!

If anyone's got some success stories or advice it would be much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Alec

I believe that if the camera fits the craddle then you´ll be able to fly the Mini Alexa. Not heavier than RED so I don´t think you´ll have any problems. I have flown RED several times with Zeiss Master Primes FF so weight will not be an issue. You´d better start working out :)

    Thanks Augusto,

I was just checking because I know the cradle of the M10 is much narrower in depth than the M15. I wasn't sure if this could cause an issue 'fouling' against the back bar if you were to tilt etc...

    Hi all,

after some tests with the Mini in minimum configuration (2xMAP-1, BAP-2) with a 75 wh v-mount battery on sidemount and Heden Carat ff the M-15 did very well. Weight of the cam in total with 28mm UP LDS was 5.5 kgs.

This setup didn't fit on the M-10, too wide and to front heavy. Also the antenna from the Mini always hit the roll bar. So i would guess it works with an highspeed, old standard 35mm prime or CP-2s. Another possibility would be to use a lipo and loose the v-mount.

    Some pics attached.

    Best,

    Great photos, thanks for posting.
Any idea what the power Lemo pinout config is so a lipo can be used for power ?

    Hey Wolf!

Thanks for all the pictures and information! Very very useful!! We'd be using our's on an aerial rig which I usually power the camera from a Lipo fixed to the landing leg, hopefully with that set-up and some EF CP.2's I can squeeze it in the M10....if not I'll have to save some pennies for the M15!!

Thanks again for all the info and photographs! Really really helpful!!

    Cheers!

I've flown Alexa Mini on M10. It's very tight but doable. PM me if you need more info...best of luck

Hey guys, got a job coming up asking for Arri Mini and have not developed a setup yet for Arri on the drone/M10.
So is it 4S lipos for the Arri Mini (same ones I use for RED)? Must I get a right angle leemo power connector, or is the straight one OK for a M10. We will be flying EF mount Leica R 16mm lens (the lightest smallest lens option).

    HI Bryan,

yes, the 4S Lipo is possible, i would guess about 20 min runtime. An angled Lemo connector is a must.

It should work alright with the small Leica lens..

I would like to see a pic of the setup…

    Best and good luck,

    Wolf
