    Hi,
I was thinking of modifying my Lemo to dtap power cable for the redrock FF.
I was going to open up the dtap power plug and wire the lipo plug in as well. I was hoping this will allow me to use the same cable wether I am using a Lipo or Dtap power source.
The picture below should illustrate what I mean. Is there any reason I shouldn’t do this?

Of course when the Dtap plug isn't in use I would insulate it to prevent at the risk of shorting the circuit.

    Hey Alex,

I would not recommend using a cable set up like that (as convenient as it is) because LiPo batteries, when running directly into the basestation without any form of regulation, are known to have dangerous power spikes that can damage the basestation.

The cable we sell in the store has in-line power regulation to prevent those issues.

Feel free to contact support@redrockmicro.com if you have any other questions.

Hope your microRemote is treating you well!

Alex hope you don't mind but I changed the title of your post. But I do like your creative name of "redneck micro". :)
