Flying the m10 in the last days i discovered something like a range problem. At aproxx 300 to 400meters i discovered that the movi tries randomely to snap back to majestic position. Can anybody tell me the distance the Movi should work without problems. I am using standard DX7s RC and the RX, that Freefly put in. Thanks Norbert
I would say, you're getting very good distance with Spektrum The connection between Tx and rx drops, that's why Movi gets into Majestic mode. To overcome this problem, we move to Futaba Sbus platform, we don't have range problems anymore.
Anyone from Freefly care to chime in and say what the limits are? Have never seen an official range is...thru FF. Doesn't mean its not out there, I just haven't seen it.
The range differs a lot; from environment to environment; system to system. As for my experience, I could never get a range over 300m with Spektrum DX7&DX8. If you are working long distance, Spektrum is not the right choice.
Jim, I don't have any experience on Movi controller but according to the user reports here, its range is also not that great; very similar to DX7. Norbert, I use Futaba T8J, one of the cheapest SBUS supported TX. It's very simple, you just plug-in the receiver to Movi. And adjust the settings on the software. (Change the receiver type and remap the controls, and then you are done.)
Do be sure to switch the MōVI Controller to power level 4 (the highest radiated RF power) if it is lawful for you to do so. I'm not sure whether shipments to countries other than the USA are set to lower power levels to comply with regulations. Andy.
Andy, can you confirm this? Are there controller, that provide a better range than the Spektrum does? Can you recomend the Futaba T8j or do you have any other recomendation to get the best range/performance? What about Graupner? Thanks
Hi Norbert: I'm not quite sure what the "this" you refer to is -- certainly there are four power levels and in Europe the maximum power level is lower than in the USA. Also, I can confirm that Gary is always correct! Andy.
As a long time RC guy I remember thinking for $15K Freefly couldn't at least include a better radio system than the DX7?
