Hexacopter has been perfect until recently. Number 1 motor is working intermittently. If I take the hexa out of the car and fly immediately it works perfect. If I leave it in the cool air for more than 10 minutes, the #1 motor jerks back and fourth but does not spin. If I try to advance the throttle, the other motors will not increase speed. If I put the hexa in the car for a few minutes with the heater on...it works fine as long as I launch quickly. Could it be dampness in the air...never had this problem in warm weather. Andy, any ideas? Thanks in advance. jim
Yes, I can. Would a bad bearing in one motor prevent the rest of the motors from spooling up when the throttle is applied? Is that some sort of failsafe built into the electronics?
Hmm. I re-read your posting. That really is curious. One motor should not be able to drag them all down. But I think you're right to suspect condensation. Did you apply conformal acrylic coating to the power distribution board and the brushless controllers? If not, http://rathergoodguides.com/document-guides/rgg_spraying_mk_boards_with.pdf Andy.
Yes, I have the spray but have not applied it yet. I was going to clean up the board then do the spray.
On thinking about it, I think I had exactly the same problem that you describe happen to me way back in the Dim Times. One motor just would not start up and I couldn't throttle up the others.... The BL-Ctrls are really sensitive to condensate on them -- specifically the MOSFETs. Andy.
