Start/Stop Function

    Hi

    We bought the MōVI controller and so far everything works fine, but now we are searching the best solution to make the start/stop function work.

    We use the Micro remote set with our RED EPIC camera on the MōVI. What are the cables we have to buy to let this setup work? We saw at the RedRock site the "run/stop Red cable" with Part 2-100-0038 in combination with the BNC sync cable of RED.

    This will probably the way of working but to us it seems like a bunch of cables strapped on de MoVI. Is there a solution with one cable?

    Any suggestion is welcome!

    Installed ours today and worked like a charm first time.

    Derek or Jonathan, can either of you verify that this works with the RED? What additional cables are needed?

    We are using ours on a Cannon 5D mark 3, I am sorry we can't help you with the Red. Best of luck.

    Hi Jonathan, Derek and Austin

    I don't thin the quadcopter cable will do the job for the RED Epic, RED is always something special.

    Austin are you using the MōVI controller ass well? How do you use the rec button on it in combination
    with the RED EPIC?

    The Controller's rec button does not currently function the way I have it set up, but whispers suggest an upcoming firmware update will allow it to start/stop the camera the same way the microRemote/Axis1's hand controller does.

    Thank you for contacting Freefly and MoVI technical support. Unfortunately Freefly has not yet released compatible camera specific cables for the RED, etc. We are looking to have several cables available very soon. Quadrocopter has developed a cable independently from Freefly. We do not know if it is specific to the RED cameras, so you will need to contact them directly for more information. As soon as we have camera specific cables available, we will announce it on our Freefly forum, Facebook page, and to pre-existing newsletter subscribers.

    Yup, the quadrocopter start/stop cable ande the gentLED cable works perfectly with the Red

    Its easy to set up, just remember to change the shutter button setting on the controller to "toggle" and you should be all good :)

    Our new stop/start is working however we have to push the button twice to turn on and off.

    Interesting. Tell me about your setup. Never had an issue like that with any of the shutters we've testing the past.

    Hi Chris,

    We have a Movi M5 going to a Canon 5d 3 plugged into the s-bus port. We are using the Movi controller set to toggle. Is that enough info? We sent it back to you with problems you said it worked fine and then we get it back and it takes two pushes. of the button to activate. Ned Frisk is my pilot that placed the order with you Chris. Thanks for any help we are good with pushing it twice just don't know why i's happening.

    Chances are you have the start/stop button set incorrectly. Options are toggle or momentary.. Try changing that setting to the other.
