Hey everyone, I work for Modest, a commercial production company based in Atlanta, GA, and we just launched a behind-the-scenes video highlighting the making of a commercial that called for the use of the MoVI M10. The special challenge in this commercial (and why we think it may be interesting to you) was that the storyboards called for a pivotal scene to start on a crane 30-feet directly above two parked SUVs and ended 300-yards away at the moment the plane was breached by special forces operators -- and the director wanted to shoot the entire thing in one shot. “We needed to find a way to take a series of shots we normally would have done individually - crane, dolly, steadicam - and to join them all together without the benefit of a budget large enough for heavy visual effects,” says director Matthew Pope, who worked with Director of Photography Matthew Rogers and Special Effects Coordinator Drew Kimball to devise a shot that included the use of pulleys, a Movi rig, hand-offs of the RED Epic camera from one moving vehicle to another, and half a dozen camera operators. Lauren nice job. You may want to get the MoVI ring for the handoffs. Bit easier since you have more places to grab on.
