I am wondering what the weight of the m15 is compared to the m10 and whether is going to actually be feasible to fly the gimbal in MR mode under a octo or if the m10 is the sweet spot? Id like to upgrade but if the gimbal is going to get to heavy ill stick with the m10. Has freefly flown the m15?
Brett I don't think final specs have been released for the M15. The M5 does weigh 2.2Kg. The M10 is in that 1.6Kg range.
To put it simply, the M10 has many parts made of lighter material, that make it lighter than the M5. Also, the M10 doesn't have the full cage like the M5, which also adds a small amount of weight.
I believe I heard Tabb say that they had to use some exotic materials in the M10 to reduce the weight in the motors. Naturally this adds cost. In the M5, they found ways to reduce cost by making it easier to manufacture, but it makes it heavier.
A cage is definitely an improvement. I think we (M10 owners) to get the cage like the M5 for free...otherwise we are loosing money because we were pioneers...
Hi Eric, There are discussions about a cage offering but no final decision yet. We will definitely make sure that everyone is aware of the interest in the cage. Best Regards, Denise
