Hi All, I manage to fit a Red Epic, with Cooke mini S4 50mm and RT motion two wireless focus and iris motor on. I've manage to achieve relatively perfect balance with the Movi switch off. At first it was working great, my parameters for tilt and roll stiffness was at 100. But since I left it sitting on the stand over night, the system wakes up to a new settings for the stiffness parameters. tilt has since gone down to 40, roll went down to 50. the funny thing is that when tilt stiffness is at 100, all vibration is gone when i tilt the camera 5 degrees up. Anyone had encounter similar situations? Pls advice? Thanks
Experiment with the vertical balance around the tilt motor (i.e. the 'drop stage'). Putting some pendulum into this often gets rid of occilation at various tilt settings.
i have balanced it to the point where the camera can hold position on tilt and roll. I need to have it a little bottom heavy?
Give it a try, I found it worked for me - today in fact. Trading off roll balance for 'tilt stasis' if you will, at the ranges you're using.
thx brett, yea i pushed up a little higher and now the tilt balance is off, but roll is better. seems to work a bit better.
Charles if it 'woke up with different settings' did you 'write' the new settings after you dialed it in? Under the system menu unless you 'write' them the unit will revert to the original settings on the next power cycle.
I think it's the equivalent of having a heavier camera on there. The motors are working harder to tilt to overcome the pendulum effect. Can any of you smart people comment on the theoretical improvement of tilt performance?
