Hello, I just received my M5 and I was connecting the Aux Pack to the charger supplied with the M5. The black and red cable was obvious, but what the white connector with 4S used for? I noticed the charger also has an input for the white 4S connector. What's that for, and should I be plugging it into the charger when I'm charging? I didn't see anything about that connector in the setup instructions. The whole fire thing make me nervous. Thanks! Alex
Alex, The white plug is usually the balance plug. More info can be found here: http://www.tjinguytech.com/charging-how-tos/balance-connectors
Hello, Alex. The white plug on a LiPo is called a “balance plug”, and is there so that the charger can ensure that all 4 “cells” of the LiPo are equally charged. Internally, your MōVI’s LiPo battery is made of 4 actual battery cells, each one of which should be optimally charged to 4.2VDC. Doing so helps maintain the health of the battery package and minimizes the risks you have heard about. The connection is described in steps 7-9 on Page 3 of the M5 manual. All this said, when my MōVI arrived, I left the little charger in the box and am using the big chargers I use for my copter batteries. These do require that white plug to be connected.
