    Hi guys
I have this feature film coming up in March where the production is convinced we should use the Alexa M on the Movi.
After seeing the film "1994" that freefly shot with the Alexa M, it seems that a lot of research went into the making. Is there any advice you could give me, what might be the biggest challenges with this camera and the Movi!?
I have covered most obstacles with the Red but need to do some tests with the Alexa first of course. But if there is something I should know before doing so, please let me know!
    Thanks!!
    Karlo

Get in touch with Radiant Images who did the rigging. I did and they said it would be fine to call them to find out how they did it.

And if you find out any juicy info, let us know. I'm not sure Radiant Images wants a hundred phone calls, and I have clients asking about Alexa mounting occasionally.

Hey Brett, just FYI Radiant had nothing to do with 'From 1994' Freefly prepped a custom gimbal and accessories for the film and we are working to release a production version of this system asap!

    Thanks

So Tabb, is that going to be a whole new version of the M10, or will it be something that we can update our Movis with?

Thanks for that Tabb. I hadn't called them yet. So what are the chances of using an Alexa M on an M10 rig?

We managed to fit the Alexa M into the M10 for a huge Commercial Shoot in South America and it worked perfect...

We had to extended all the main Rods of the Gimbal using normal 25mm Carbon Tubes to get enough space in the back because we didn't have the fibre Cable with the short Lemo Plug which would have made i a lot easyer to Balance (we now have it!). We also had to extend the cable to the Pan Motor.

Building the whole thing was a Pain because the upcoming Shoot left us no time...as always! I hope Freeflys Production Version Tabb mentionend before makes the Setup easier!

    Best,
    Alex

    Hi Alex
I think I will go for the same solution, extending the tubes! The m price is quite low on the net.
That will make things a lot easier on many occasion to come.
Although our warranty is probably flown out of the window!

can someone kindly post the link to the tubes you were using? Also, how hard was it to replace the tubes? Would love some comments on that. Thanks.
