I am new to professional aerial filming and photography...but have been flying a quadcopter to practice for some time.

Anyway, I am on my way to purchasing a Cinestar 8 and am trying to figure out how to protect my investment by insuring it.

Could someone point me in the right direction on insurance for the Cinestar?

    Appreciate your time and help!

    Ryan

Ok, I see. Yeah I was hoping to insure it for crashes seeing that it's so much money. Thanks for your reply!

Ryan the insurance I am aware of covers liability. Don't know of anyone with hull coverage. You might be able to buy a policy from a film/photo insurance company for your camera gear. But you may find that no one will do the crash bit. Of course anything can be insured through Lloyd's if you want to pony up the cash....

Yeah, that is true. Wish I had enough money to insure it with Lloyd's :)

I'm having a hard time getting the red insured. I'm trying to get a policy that will pay out if anything happens to the camera including if its on the copter if it crashes. I don't want the copter insured just the red.

Dave did you try the list of insurance companies listed over on RedUser.net?

    HI Gary

I can't find the thread that you are talking about. I even posted over there and nobody really offered much info.

Going back to just general liability insurance for video production when working on the ground... Can anyone offer any info on agencies with reasonable pricing and a good reputation?

I just talked to Athos Insurance at 626-716-9800 and they have very affordable pricing. Talk to Kat Wong.

Kiln insurance will provide hull insurance with a red on board .... Better be sitting down though when you get the quote through.
